Quantum managing director Paul Arrowsmith is leaving the firm to take up a position in Korea, with German company Allianz. Allianz has operations in about 70 countries worldwide, including two financial services companies in Korea. Currently Allianz is merging the companies, and Arrowsmith will be the distribution and marketing director for both.
Arrowsmith says the scale of the operation is "quite staggering". For example, there are around 13,500 sales staff producing around a million new business contracts a year.
"The Germans believe this is a market with fantastic growth opportunities and they are prepared to sink significant capital into these ventures to achieve their objectives," he says.
Arrowsmith has spent nearly six years at National Mutual (AXA) and was responsible for establishing Quantum.
