Dianne Kidd is to leave FPG Research at the end of March.
Kidd says she has no other job lined up and is keen to pursue something outside the research area.
She became an executive director of FPG after merging her business IFR with the Christchurch-based research house in the early 1990s.
Kidd says she has no plans, at present, to sell her stake in the business.
FPG is looking to make another senior appointment soon.
