Insurance and Savings ombudsman Terry Weir has resigned due to ill-health reasons.
Because the resignation was quite sudden his deputy Patricia Painter, who was on maternity leave, has been temporarily appointed to the position.
The board which oversees the scheme has employed a consultant to find a new ombudsman.
The scheme has been running for three years and Weir was the inaugural ombudsman.
