Mortgage Rates Commentary

To end of this week, Westpac has increased its six-month and one-year rates today with them rising 15 and 10 basis points respectively. However it has also cut 10 points off its two-year rate from 7.30% to 7.20%.
AMP, Credit Union North, Public Trust and SBS all increased their short term rates yesterday, click here to see the changes.
NZF is also starting to compete with banks for home loan business following the success of its $100 million securitisation programme. It has introduced a new Standard 70 home loan rate today for borrowers with at least 30% equity
