Advisers in the sweet spot

Friday 3rd of June 2016

A question I am often asked is how much business do mortgage advisers account for in New Zealand? Unfortunately no combined statistics are kept and made public in New Zealand.

Fortunately there is a wealth of evidence starting to emerge demonstrating what we know - mortgage advisers rock!

The latest piece in this jigsaw came today when The Co-operative Bank released its results. Chief executive Bruce McLachlan described the contribution from advisers as being one of the success stories of the year.

Recently ANZ, the country's largest bank, put out its numbers which are impressive with advisers making up nearly 40% of its new orginations. BNZ too was forthcoming in this area too.

The simple conclusions out of this is that mortgage advice is hitting the sweet spot and, deservedly, coming of age in New Zealand.

Enjoy the long weekend.
