Banks benefit from finance company problems

Reports last week indicated banks were benefiting from the finance company collapses with a wall of new money coming in for investment.Reserve Bank figures show that from May to June bank term deposit funds rose $1.38 billion to more than $82.6b – a rise of 1.7%, compared with a 0.7% increase for the previous period.
