Financial Advice NZ and FMA partner to launch full licensing application guide

Thursday 12th of November 2020

The full licensing guide has been specifically crafted to raise advisers to full licence standards across seven conditions including:

  1. record keeping
  2. internal complaints process
  3. regulatory returns
  4. outsourcing
  5. business continuity and technology systems
  6. ongoing requirements
  7. notification of material changes.

The release from Financial Advice NZ says, “As you prepare to operate under a financial advice provider transitional licence from March 15, 2021, we know that some of you have started turning your minds to the requirements for full licensing and what that application process will involve.

“That’s why we’d like to invite you to join us for a first look at the full licensing application guide that is being released by the FMA this month. We will be delivering this event live at Christchurch Town Hall and online.”

Attending the event will be John Botica, Derek Grantham and other key members of the FMA licensing and supervision teams who will share an overview of what advisers can expect from the FAP full licensing application process when it opens on March 15, 2021.

They will also be on hand to answer any questions that advisers or other interested parties may have about getting prepared for the new financial advice regime.

The free event is being presented by the FMA in partnership with Financial Advice NZ.
