Hanover duo win defamation case
Monday 4th of March 2013
Hanover Finance directors Mark Hotchin and Eric Watson have reportedly won a six figure settlement from the NZ Shareholders Association.
The NZ Herald reports the association has paid a significant sum to settle a defamation case.
The case revolves around comments its former chairman Bruce Sheppard made against the duo in television and radio interviews, in emails to MPs and ministers, and on his blog.

This is a shock. I would have thought it would have been hard to defame either of these gentleman. A bit ironic that many members of the shareholders association probably supported the Hotchin/Watson finance company.

Agree. The court of public opinion has found these folks guilty as charged... with the Shareholders Assoc simply delivering the message
