AMP’s income protection product

Wednesday 10th of April 2013

For the record, my dislike of the product comes from the definition of "Partially Disabled". For an insured to be considered Partially Disabled, he/she must not be able to work full time!  This means that a person disabled but able to work full time in a lesser capacity, and thus unable to earn at his/her pre-disability rate, would be denied a claim.  All other insurers allow a claim where an insured loses income solely due to the disability, even if able to work full time, but unable to earn as much as before!

We hear through the grapevine that AXA Income Protection new business is noticeably up from AMP aligned advisers.  Well done guys!
