Former AA Life management start from scratch

Thursday 30th of December 2010

Legacy Life opened on October 1 and Knox says he and Rupatera are equal partners in the business, starting from scratch with an aim to build a strong, vibrant and robust business. Sir David Levene is the chairman and a shareholder in the company.

Knox says the desire to be self-employed initiated the move as both he and Rupatera wanted to be their own boss, embracing all the challenges and benefits that come with it.

"We've had a lot of challenges so far in starting up Legacy Life and long hours, but it's a lot of fun because everything you achieve is as a result of your own hard work."

He says they had both achieved what they wanted to at AA Life, turning around and growing business, leaving the company in a healthy and profitable state.

He says Legacy Life's goals are to break even and to ultimately grow a significant scale distribution business.

"It's a hybrid business, we will attempt to do direct product and sales and also full advice, fusing those together to build a good quality business."
