Newpark offers grant for businesses
Senior business manager Josh Bronkhurst had “moved sideways” from Newpark, managing director Darren Gannon said, to run MortgageLink’s home loan business as well.
Managing director Darren Gannon said Newpark was taking the opportunity of top-level personnel changes to shift its focus away from having a lot of high-end staff to more direct support for adviser businesses.
Senior business manager Josh Bronkhurst had “moved sideways” from Newpark, Gannon said, to run MortgageLink’s home loan business as well.
Newpark has a joint venture with MortgageLink and offers advisers a non-branded service.
Former general manager Paul Gill has also left, to join Westpac.
Newpark had launched a $650,000 marketing grant that would go straight into adviser businesses.
Advisers would need to provide receipts for their spending to claim the money.
“We’re trying to coach advisers to reinvest in their businesses, if they reinvest and their businesses grow, it’s good for everyone. Rather than just put commissions up or give them money that they might use to pay off their mortgage or get a nicer car, we want to coach them and show them if they reinvest [in their businesses] they can make so much more.”
The grant could be used for anything that would improve the business, Gannon said.
“Rather than replace Josh we’ve freed up the money to give straight to advisers."
