ASB's interest rate strategy

Thursday 10th of September 2009

ASB's pricing strategy of its home loans appears to be changing.  Earlier in the year it had positioned itself with longer term rates lower than its bank competitors.

Last week it changed its strategy cutting its floating rate to a market leading 5.75% and increasing longer term rates.  The above graph shows how ASB has changed its market position.  We show its five-year rate against the median five-year rate of the other big banks.
