KiwiSaver in plain english
Monday 25th of February 2013
ANZ has achieved the WriteMark quality standard for its "plain english" KiwiSaver scheme investment statement.
WriteMark founder Lynda Harris says “Some financial institutions and their lawyers have argued that writing an investment statement in plain English is just not possible. ANZ has shown that the naysayers are wrong; investment statements can be clear.”
ANZ managing director of wealth and private banking John Body said it would give members confidence that documents were written to make things easier for them.

Can any lawyer who said contracts can't be written in plain English tell us which Act, Law or whatever says contracts cannot be written in plain English?
I stand corrected, my understanding of Contract Law is that contracts must not be ambiguous and must be understood by contracting parties. It didn't say it must be written with legal jargons where only lawyers can understand or argue in court.
And contracting parties can write their own contracts / agreement, as long as they are crystal clear and all contracting parties understood the content / meaning of the contract / agreement. Of course, it has to be signed by contracting parties and witnessed. This contract will stand in any court of justice.
