FAP applications begin

Transitional licensing opened on Monday.

Before a FAP licence can be applied for, a financial service provider has to register on the Financial Service Providers Register and Companies Office with their relevant financial advice service.

That takes 24 hours to come into effect.

From there, people can go to the FMA website to continue the process.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment said figures for Monday showed that 30 existing Financial Service Providers indicated their intention to apply for a transitional licence on the FSPR. One new entity applied for a transitional licence.
