Old hand takes tiller at IFA

Monday 25th of November 2013

The IFA has appointed Fred Dodds as its new CEO. Dodds is well-known in the industry and most recently ran TOWER's financial advisory network.

IFA chairman Julie Berry says that Dodds has extensive knowledge and experience of how professional financial advisers operate and the challenges they face on a day-to-day basis.

He has been a long term advocate and active particiapant of the IFA and his proven leadership and communications skills will put the IFA in a stronger position to re-engage with its members and to continue to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, Berry says.

She says Dodds is a highly respected member of the financial services community and has worked on the risk and investment side of the profession, as well as with the larger institutions.

Dodds says he is "really looking forward to the position and the challenges it brings. With the changes to financial advisers and their businesses over the last few years having a strong professional association dedicated to supporting them has never been more important. I am looking forward to engaging with old and new colleagues in a positive way.”

He takes over as CEO on January 13.
