Big changes at Brook

Friday 14th of November 2008
Simon Botherway and Paul Glass are leaving at the end of the year to pursue their own interests outside the funds management industry. “Simon and Paul, along with Mel Firmin, Justin Edgar and Michael Locke have played a significant role in building Brook to be in the leading position it is today,” managing director Mark Brighouse says.

Chris Gaskin who has worked closely with Simon over the years, will continue to manage the core portfolios having taken on responsibility for these at the end of July.

Justin Edgar and Michael Locke, senior analysts with Brook, will continue their key roles within the investment process and are supported by other analysts.

Brook intends to announce appointments of additional senior members to the investment team in the near future.

Botherway said his decision to leave was not taken lightly, but that he departs Brook with a strong investment team in place.

Glass said leaving Brook was not an easy decision to make, but felt it was time to look at other interests outside of the business.

There is no change to Brook’s fundamental research process. Brook has more than $1 billion of assets under management.
