Suncorp Life NZ’s managing director Sean Carroll has announced that he will be taking up a broader role within Suncorp Life in Australia, and will be leaving his role as immediate executive general manager of the New Zealand business in the new year.

Carroll will continue to actively manage his current role within New Zealand as he transitions to his new role in Australia, and will work closely with the Suncorp Life New Zealand leadership team until the end of the calendar year to ensure a smooth transition.  Grant Willis (Suncorp Life NZ’s Chief Financial Officer) will act as Executive General Manager Suncorp Life New Zealand during this time until a suitable permanent replacement is found. 

Carroll says that Suncorp Life NZ is well positioned to continue gaining momentum in the life insurance market with a highly developed senior leadership team which was completed earlier this year.  “Suncorp Life offers a unique proposition in the life insurance market and is recognised for its market leading philosophy.  We’ve appointed the best people in the market to continue to build its strength and  I am happy to be leaving it in very good hands”. 

Suncorp Life management will be working through a diligent and robust appointment process with an announcement expected later in the year regarding Carroll’s successor.
