Dowling takes on key FPSB role
The FPSB held a meeting in Amsterdam last week.
It administers the Certified Financial Planner certification, which is managed by the IFA in New Zealand.
The FPSB Asia-Pacific Forum is comprised of the leaders of FPSB member organisations in Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore and Thailand who co-ordinate promotion of financial planning and CFP certification in the Asia-Pacific region.
Dowling will take the role of chair until the end of next year.
The board held a meeting in Amsterdam last week, at which it set a growth goal of 250,000 CFP professionals in 40 territories by 2025.
It has launched its global social media campaign, #LifesBetter, to promote how life is better for members of the public who have a financial plan and who work with a certified financial planner professional.
The FPSB Professional Standards Committee presented a framework for professional standards that can be embraced by legislators, regulators and other stakeholders looking to recognise the professional practice of financial planning.
FPSB reaffirmed the importance of working with legislators and regulators at local, regional and global levels to ensure that financial planning and CFP certification are appropriately recognised.
