Jenkins leaves NZX

NZX said in a statement he had resigned so he and his family could return home to Sydney,.

He joined NZX as head of markets in January 2014, which included overseeing NZX’s Smartshares exchange traded funds (ETFs) business.

He was then appointed head of funds management after NZX’s acquisition of superannuation and KiwiSaver provider SuperLife.

He oversaw the integration of the SuperLife and Smartshares businesses and the complex Financial Markets Conduct Act transition for the combined funds business. He led the expansion of Smartshares portfolio of ETFs from five to 23 funds, and under his leadership, NZX funds under management has grown from $330 million at the start of 2014 to more than $2.3 billion today.

Chief executive Mark Peterson said: “Aaron has been a key member of the NZX executive team and I would like to personally thank him for the enormous contribution he has made to our markets and funds management businesses.

“Aaron has decided it is the right time to relocate his young family back to Australia. Aaron will continue in his role until we recruit a replacement, and on behalf of the team at NZX, we wish Aaron, Tara and their daughters all the very best for the move.”
