New board and president for IFA
Thursday 15th of May 2008
The Institute of Financial Advisers has a new president. It is Westpac wealth adviser Lyn McMorran. She takes over from outgoing president Simon Hassan.
This year, for the first time, the IFA Council voted for its president. Three candidates put their name forward, but as reported earlier, New Plymouth-based risk adviser Garth Clarricoats withdrew from the race, instead backing McMorran.
The unsuccessful candidate Nigel Tate, also failed to get a seat at the board table.
The IFA's practitioner directors are; Neville Caird (Dunedin), Jordi Garcia (Auckland), and Tony Vidler (Christchurch).
In addition, Clarricoats continues as a practitioner director.
Ross Butler continues for another year as independent director, while Ferne Bradley has completed her term as an independent. Currently the IFA is looking for a replacement director
