The new Government Actuary is David Benison.
Benison is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of London and a Fellow of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries. He has extensive background in insurance and superannuation in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and France.
He replaces John Melville, who has been the Government Actuary since Geoff Rashbrooke resigned.
