The two new advisers are Grant Maddison and Steve Oliver who help extend the group’s presence in Southland and the Central Lakes District.
Oliver and Maddison are both experienced insurance brokers and financial advisers serving the rural sector, SMEs, families and high-net-worth individuals in Southland and Central Otago.
Maddison is an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA) and director of Maddison Financial Services (MFS). He has over 20 years experience in the financial services sector having worked for AMP before establishing his own advisory business in 1999. He is a member of the Institute of Financial Advisers (IFA) and has been a member of the MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) since 1995.
Oliver is also an AFA and began working in the financial services sector in 1989 as an account manager with UDC Finance specialising in commercial finance. He has also held roles with Southland Building Society and Farmers Mutual Group before establishing a specialist risk management and investment advisory firm, Piper Oliver Financial Services (POFS), in 2002. He merged POFS with another firm in 2006 before establishing his own independent advisory business Steve Oliver Financial Services in 2012.
Plus4’s Chairman Grant Uridge said, “Steve and Grant are experienced and highly regarded Southland advisers. They have established a successful business, predominantly serving the needs of the rural sector, businesses and families. Given that Plus4 is a cooperative, the only specialist insurance and financial broking firm who is a member of the NZ Cooperatives Association, we are very selective about whom we ask to join our group.”
Established in 2008 in Nelson, Plus4 now has over 30 advisers working from 12 locations between Whangarei and Invercargill. Group members, who have no affiliations to any specific insurance provider, offer unbiased advice tailored to their individual and business clients’ requirements.
