Tower names NZ ceo

Thursday 24th of August 2006
Insurance and financial services company Tower has appointed Rob Flannagan as chief executive of its New Zealand operations

Flannagan is currently head of trans-Tasman insurer Promina's information technology and infrastucture division, based in Auckland.

Tower recently announced it was splitting its New Zealand and Australian operations because they were quite different businesses.

The Australian business, which has bounced back from trading difficulties, would list on the Australian Stock Exchange.

The plan awaits final shareholder approval in November.

Current chief executive Jim Minto will take over as the head of the new Australian operation.

GPG director Tony Gibbs will chair the New Zealand company.
