Vacancies on new IFA board
On the board's recommendation, Simon Hassan’s term as President has been extended by 12 months. It says that this reflects the association and industry is in a period of "exceptional circumstances" and some continuity in leadership was required.
Nigel Tate has been elected Vice-President, taking over the position held by Garth Clarricoats.
Tony Vidler and Lyn McMorran were re-elected as chairs of the insurance advisers and financial planners colleges, respectively.
The IFA was looking someone to chair the newly formed investment advisers group, however, no nominations were received.
There were two vacancies for practitioner directors. The only nomination was Clarricoats who becomes a director. The board is looking to fill the vacancy.
The other practitioner member is Mario Juran. The independent directors are Ross Butler and Ferne Bradley.
