TSB offers loans at 4.69%

Friday 16th of September 2022

It is available til the end of September.

In addition, TSB has said it will beat any ANZ, ASB, BNZ or Westpac nationally advertised fixed home loan rate by 0.10% p.a.

Several conditions apply to the loan, such as owner occupiers having a 20% deposit. For investors, the figure is 40%.

”In this tough environment, we’re so proud to be able to offer this to New Zealanders looking for a great deal, “ said Joe Bishop, the bank's General Manager of Product & Marketing.

Most major banks are offering one-year mortgages at rates between 5.15% and 5.95%, though some smaller lenders such as Heartland and the Cooperative Bank are lending at rates of around 4.79% and 4.89%.

The median rate is 5.35%.

TSB's offer follows a range of other offers from banks competing with each other to find a home for the large profits that they have been making.
