TSB offers loans at 4.69%

In addition, TSB has said it will beat any ANZ, ASB, BNZ or Westpac nationally advertised fixed home loan rate by 0.10% p.a.
Several conditions apply to the loan, such as owner occupiers having a 20% deposit. For investors, the figure is 40%.

Most major banks are offering one-year mortgages at rates between 5.15% and 5.95%, though some smaller lenders such as Heartland and the Cooperative Bank are lending at rates of around 4.79% and 4.89%.
The median rate is 5.35%.
TSB's offer follows a range of other offers from banks competing with each other to find a home for the large profits that they have been making.
