MATT CHURCH
- proudly sponsored by AMP Financial Services
Based in Sydney, Matt
Church is a powerful, informative and entertaining speaker who
has the ability to move an audience beyond the cognitive level
and encourage them to examine the underlying issues that prevent
them from functioning at their peak. He is an expert in the areas
of health, lifestyle, communication and motivation. Matt blends
an academic background in applied science and human performance
to tap into what it is that stops us living the professional and
personal lives we deserve. By exploring people's daily schedules
he knows the problems that we - and by default our families and
companies - face when stress is up, energy is down, people become
problems and you just want to stop the merry-go-round! Matt asks
the question: "What do you do, think and feel from the minute
you wake up till you go to bed?" He then uses this knowledge
to plan strategies for advising people how to be more effective
and achieve peak performance.
Matt uses his scientific background to weave a story of balance and personal excellence. He focuses on the latest research in human performance and puts it forward with humour and energy. By understanding how to eat, move and think so they turn on to their own success chemistry, his audiences become more effective in their personal and professional lives.
"Change is an inside-out process. For people to effect change in their lives, they need to challenge their self-limiting beliefs and acquire skills to motivate themselves from within. It is easy to motivate people eternally and make them feel good, but it can be short-lived. My preference is to work with an audience and teach people skills they can put into practice on a daily basis." Matt believes that there is nothing more motivating than success. He doesn't beat up the audience with do's and don'ts. He encourages people to strive for their personal best. He is not evangelical, he's inspirational!

RUTH
RICHARDSON - proudly sponsored by AMP Financial Services
"Taking charge of
making a radical break from our economic traditions. An analysis
of what it will take to make a power of difference to our savings
and growth performance"
The Honourable Ruth Richardson
was the first Finance Minister [1990 - 1993] in Jim Bolger's National
Party Government in New Zealand. She made her name by driving
New Zealand's reform agenda forward and laying the basis for the
subsequent turnaround of New Zealand's growth and employment performance.
Ruth was first elected to Parliament in 1981. During the party's
opposition years she held the position of Shadow Minister of Education
from 1984 to 1987 during which time she designed the National
Government's education policy. In 1987 Ruth was promoted to the
position of Shadow Minister of Finance and developed the economic
policy that National took into government to secure the economic
recovery.
When National won Government in
1990, she earned a reputation for clear thinking, forthright speaking
and resolute reform. When Ruth was appointed Minister of Finance
she inherited an economy in deep recession, a budget forecast
to blow out massively and a credit downgrade from an international
credit rating agency. Within weeks of taking office Ruth took
decisive corrective action with an economic package involving:
a major fiscal correction, deregulation of the labour market and
a recommitment to price stability and the 0 - 2% contract with
the Central Bank [Reserve Bank] early initiatives in redesigning
social policy
By July 1993 New Zealand had recorded eight quarters of positive growth and was heading for a fiscal surplus in the 1993/1994 year along with the first credit upgrade in 10 years. On the back of those reforms the economy grew by 20% and New Zealand recorded the highest rate of job growth in the OECD.
Ruth is the acknowledged architect of the Fiscal Responsibility Act 1994, landmark legislation applauded around the world for its success in taming budget deficits and changing the nature of the fiscal policy debate.
Since her time as a reforming New Zealand Minister of Finance from 1990 - 1993, Ruth Richardson has established her own strategic and economic policy advice consultancy meeting a significant global demand for advice on New Zealand's economic reforms. She also has considerable involvement in the local and international business community being the Chairman of Cardinal Group Australia Pty Ltd, Morningstar Pty Ltd, the Pacific Investment Capital Fund, and a director of the Aoraki Corporation, Immuno-Chemical Products Ltd, Oyster Bay Marlborough Vineyards Ltd, TransAlta NZ Ltd, Wrightson Ltd, and the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. She is the former Chairman of Dairy Brands NZ Ltd.
"Making a Difference", Ruth's insider account of the politics of reform, was published in 1995 by Shoal Bay Press, Christchurch.

JOHN EALES - proudly sponsored by BT Funds Management
As John Eales held the William Webb Ellis Trophy aloft, the nation
welcomed its latest world champion team. Eales led the Wallabies
to their second World Cup victory, making Australia the only nation
to have won the coveted championship twice.
John Eales has been an integral member of both the Queensland and Australian Rugby Union teams since 1991. His profile and reputation precede him wherever he travels, as he is widely considered the most outstanding forward in world rugby. He has now retired, having played in 86 Tests, 55 as Captain, and three World Cups, winning two and captaining one. The role of Australian Captain went well with Eales, a man renowned for his ability to lead from the front.
When the Herald's rugby analyst Spiro Zavos was asked to contribute a paragraph describing John Eales, he wrote: "John Eales has captained the Wallabies with grace. He has kicked the team's goals. He has tackled more frequently than the loose forwards. He has caught most of the lineout ball. He has driven fearlessly into the rucks and mauls. He has galloped upfield with the ball, leading from the front. He has been a master of all the rugby skills and the jack of none."
John Eales is articulate, sophisticated and one of "Rugby's Gentleman". He is a magnificent leader, an ideal role model and an inspiring Australian.
In August 2001 John Eales announced his retirement from Australian Rugby Union and the Qld Reds. He will be assisting Australia to co-host the 2003 World Cup with NZ. Eales will also take on a role as mentor to the Australian under 19 and under 21 sides.
