DeLaval is a privately owned, multi-national company rich in history and innovation. This Sweden-based company has offices in 55 countries. DeLaval operates through a nationwide dealer organisation supplying dairy farmers with specialist products, including milking systems, to assist farmers optimise farm management.

The Chief Accountants’ role has become available due to an internal promotion, providing an opportunity for a focused, strategic thinking, qualified accountant.

This role encompasses:

• the provision of financial, accounting and administration expertise
• advising the Managing Director and members of the senior management group on financial operating budgets, forecasting and business reporting
• ensuring appropriate financial procedures and practices are in place and effectively managed
• managing, motivating and co-ordinating internal support staff to ensure effective administration and financial support is delivered.
The Australian and South African companies report into the New Zealand operation and, as such, this role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting in all three countries. Occasional travel to these countries will be required.

Positions of this nature are not readily available within medium-sized multi-national companies in New Zealand. DeLaval provides excellent working conditions and remuneration packages, including a generous superannuation program and career opportunities.
