The New Zealand Superannuation Fund exists to assist the New Zealand Government in meeting the cost of providing New Zealand Superannuation as the population ages. The Fund currently has approximately $5bn in assets and is expected to grow rapidly over the coming years. All asset management is outsourced to external asset managers. Currently there are 16 such managers and that number too is expected to grow.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer - Portfolio Construction, your responsibilities will include researching and monitoring the Fund's existing suite of asset managers and identifying and researching those that might also form part of the portfolio. You will contribute to researching optimal manager configurations within the portfolio and new ideas in mandate structuring.

You will work with a small team committed to achieving global best-practice standards in funds management. You will deal extensively with highly regarded asset management firms both in New Zealand and around the world. You will make an important contribution to the development of what will become New Zealand's largest fund.

You will bring to this role an investment management background, strong analytical skills and the ability to express yourself fluently both internally and externally and in writing and orally. You will be a careful listener and patient negotiator. Ideally you will have worked in a multi-manager environment before and have reasonably well developed quant skills. You will be passionate about the role and recognise the opportunity to meet, and in some cases define, best-practice.

If you have the skills we are looking for then please apply now. Your application, which will be treated in strictest confidence, should be sent to:
