National Manager for Nationwide Financial Services Group

Friday, July 25th 2008, 04:12PM

The Group is made up of some 20 practices representing 80+ advisers in the financial services industry: primarily in the life insurance / personal risk and investment areas.

Until now, the implementation of the strategic business plan has been undertaken by the members of the Board. However, the Group has decided that it is now time to employ a fulltime National Manager whose role will be to drive the growth and further development of the business plan.

Location: Because of the travel involved, we would prefer the successful applicant to be close to one of the main centres.
The Role: The vision of the group is "to help each practice within the group achieve success, so that the group is ultimately successful". There will be both financial and business structural goals to implement during the first 12 months of this position, in order to achieve that vision.

To effectively carry out this role, the appointee will need to be able to

  • Source, analyse and make recommendations to the Board on alternative solutions to meet individual aspects of the business plan.
  • Assist the board in developing further strategies to help achieve the vision.
  • Manage the entire process of implementing key objectives.
  • Be a supporter / promoter to assist Practices and their advisers to achieve their individual goals.
  • Be able to influence changes in behaviour and changes in the Group's strategy.
  • Be excited by this proposition and not be intimidated by the concept of setting up the role and making it work.

The person will be working closely with the Directors and will be expected to work 'collaboratively' with the Directors: questioning and challenging where appropriate, while at the same time committing to the Group's direction and implementing those objectives reached.

They will be given a single point of contact as his or her "Direct Report" and will be an invitee on the Board of Directors, essentially attending all meetings and having a reporting capacity to the Board on the key objectives associated with the role.
