ANZ’s decisions to cut commissions paid to brokers is causing “mass hysteria” according to Approved Mortgage Brokers and NZ Mortgage Finance general manager Dave Shatford.

Commonwealth Bank provides NZ Finance with funding line to reduce reliance on debentures.

Listed investment company Salvus is significantly overweight to cash in its New Zealand share fund and is warning the sharemarket is “very fully valued.”

The news is pretty good in the latest barometer reading of people’s intentions. Investor confidence is at record high levels, managed funds are picked as the second most popular investment and the awareness of KiwiSaver continues to grow.

The issue which is really in the spotlight at the moment is ownership changes in the financial advisory industry.
