Professional Investment Services (PIS) was formed in Australia by a group of Chartered Accountants and other Financial Advisors. The only privately owned large financial institution in Australia the group has expanded quickly in the past seven years. It is now the second-largest financial adviser group in Australia with $8 billion under advice and 1100 professional advisers.

This model has been so successful that other countries are seeking to buy in to replicating the PIS structure. Examples are Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.

The New Zealand operations is owned and operated by professional firms in New Zealand and enjoys very strong support with regular contact by the Australian parent. This provides unlimited access to their strict quality assurance and compliance controls.

Silks Financial Services Limited wish to appoint a financial planner to their Wanganui based PIS branch who can be full time or part time. Applicants should have full or near completion of CFP qualification or relevant industry experience. Remuneration package will initially include a retainer component.

Successful applicants will be expected to:

• Actively market services including savings plans, life and income protection insurance, investment products with initial support and systems being provided.


• Participate in PIS’s Professional Development Plans including attendances at conferences at national level for both Australia and NZ.

This is a golden opportunity to become involved in the Wanganui operations of PIS in its early stages of development carrying with it the potential to gain a high level of remuneration. Planners who have joined PIS branches in other regions are now reaping substantial rewards from their involvement.

The PIS model is unique in that it has a predominant involvement and support of Chartered Accountancy firms. PIS has access to product range and support systems which any other financial service organisation would have difficulty matching.
