The Social Policy and Knowledge Group is the Government's principal provider of social policy advice, leading the provision of advice across a wide range of issues. The Welfare Reform Group is busy with a range of new initiatives requiring time, energy and sound analysis.

As a Principal Analyst you will work on major policy projects and bring your significant experience to the team. You will work collaboratively with a diverse range of external agencies and key to your success will be your ability to advise and present at the highest level. This is the opportunity to further your professional development in policy making that deals with real world issues.

As this role deals not only with social policy but also with the financial issues behind it, you must be comfortable dealing with numbers and costing. You'll have a relevant tertiary qualification, a strong analytical mind, good project management experience and you will be able to demonstrate considerable experience in mentoring and supporting junior analysts. You will have political and stakeholder awareness along with excellent communication and relationship management skills.
