An opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Sales Manager to join the BNZ Insurance Leadership Team as Head of Sales and Distribution.

We're looking for a strong leader who is passionate about Insurance and who has the technical expertise and commercial focus required to build our brand in the market. Preferably based in Wellington, and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will be responsible for leading and delivering our growth strategy, energising our distribution network to exceed our customers' expectations, and giving our people the tools they need to be successful. You will be involved in some exciting strategic initiatives working on growing new distribution channels to deliver a complete offering to our customers.

You will also use your influence to collaborate with other areas of the Bank, increasing sales penetration by delivering tailored solutions to retail and business customers.

Key accountabilities:

*Prepare and execute customer and marketing strategies for BNZ insurances consistent with the wider Bank of New Zealand approach

*Ensure the current product set is continually reviewed, improved and added to where necessary to meet market demands

*Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships

*Prepare and execute strategy to ensure sales targets via all new and existing channels are met *Monitor competitor initiatives and/or changing market conditions, and recommend changes as required

*Develop and sponsor specific sales campaigns and initiatives geared to achieving growth and market penetration.

Skills and experience required:

*Minimum of 8 years experience in Insurance, with at least 3 years spent in a senior leadership role

*Proven ability to deliver superior service and meet competing needs of a range of stakeholder groups

*Influencing skills at all levels (upwards, peers and direct reports), with the ability to develop business relationships through collaboration and consultation.

This position is a key role within BNZ Insurances and as such requires someone with a high degree of commercial acumen and influencing skills. Your track record will show that you have the ability to lead high performing sales teams to deliver outstanding results within highly competitive market environments. A degree and appropriate post graduate qualification is preferable. This coupled with your proven results as a senior leader will provide you with a platform for success in this role.
